Réponse humanitaire globale

Context (Problem Statement)

Across Cameroon and many parts of Africa, communities continue to face the devastating effects of both natural and manmade crises. Armed conflict, floods, epidemics, and climate shocks have displaced millions, destroyed livelihoods, and eroded access to basic services such as health care, water, and education. Families are forced to flee their homes with little more than what they can carry, while women, children, and persons with disabilities bear the heaviest burden of insecurity, hunger, and loss. In the North West, South West, and Far North regions, entire communities live in fear and uncertainty. Many people struggle to meet their daily needs for food, shelter, and safety, while protection risks such as gender-based violence, child abuse, and exploitation rise sharply during displacement. Limited humanitarian access, shrinking funding, and weak coordination further compound these challenges, leaving thousands without timely or adequate assistance. This is the reality that calls LUKMEF to act. For over two decades, LUKMEF has been on the front lines of humanitarian response, reaching people in need through a model rooted in humanity, neutrality, impartiality, and independence. The organization believes that saving lives goes hand in hand with restoring dignity, protecting rights, and empowering affected communities to recover and rebuild. LUKMEF’s Humanitarian Response Department exists to deliver timely lifesaving assistance, ensure protection for the most vulnerable, and support recovery through coordinated and community-driven interventions that respect local realities and uphold humanitarian principles.
